Hyundai reportedly is targeting sales of 35,000 Atoz models annually through DCC dealers. Hyundai also is eyeing the possibility of assembling cars in North America, possibly Mexico. "I can imagine that any company that plans on being competitive in the North American market would be looking at (assembling vehicles here)," says Finbarr J. O'Neill, Hyundai Motor America president and chief executive officer. "I would also say that we're not currently competitive in Mexico. North America does include Mexico." HMA also is looking to expand its offerings. The midsize XG300 sedan will be added in September. A minivan once again is possible longer term - earlier plans to import the Starex were scuttled, and a roadster could be in the cards. The latter would "validate the brand worldwide," Mr. O'Neill says.
