TURIN – BMW’s Mini Rocketman is the brand’s shortest, and possibly its lightest, concept so far. Thanks to a hybrid powertrain, it’s also fast and fuel efficient, the auto maker says.

To be unveiled at next week’s Geneva Motor Show, the concept features a short wheelbase, double-hinged doors and a 2-piece hatch that opens into the roof to allow better access to the cargo area.

The interior is designed around a 3+1 layout, with the car measuring 11.2 ft. (3.4 m) in overall length.

The concept is designed to allow a drive system that “combines further-enhanced sprinting ability” with fuel economy of 78 mpg (3 L/100 km), BMW says.
