Multiple Countries Negotiating Anti-Counterfeiting Pact

LONDON – The automotive industry is calling for tighter worldwide enforcement of fake components, as influential countries meet in Geneva to thrash out details of a global Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.

The ACTA is a proposed plurilateral pact that would impose strict enforcement of intellectual property rights related to Internet activity and trade in information-based goods.
