Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. says its new ’07 Camry will begin at $18,270, a $175 (0.9%) drop from last year’s base model.

Adding an automatic transmission to the base model, dubbed CE, brings the price to $19,320, a $45 (0.2%) hike from prior year.

The Camry LE begins at $19,450 for a 4-cyl. model with a manual transmission. The price represents a $95 (0.5%) increase from last year. (See related story: New Camry Mixed Bag )

A Camry LE with automatic transmission is $20,500, a $125 (0.6%) hike.

Adding a V-6 (available only with a 5-speed automatic transmission) brings the Camry LE to $23,040, up $260 (1.1%).

The Camry SE sport trim begins at $20,790 for a 4-cyl. model with a manual transmission. The price is a $415 (2%) increase from year-ago.

A 4-cyl. SE with automatic transmission is $21,790, up $585 (2.8%). An SE with a V-6 engine begins at $24,315, a $290 (1.2%) increase from last year’s pricing.

The top-of-the-line XLE trim begins at $24,425 for a model with a 4-cyl. engine. It is a $1,630 (7.2%) increase from the last-generation XLE.

The XLE with a V-6 engine is $27,520, up $1,715 (6.6%) from prior year.

The new Camry goes on sale early next month in the U.S.

The Camry Hybrid is set to debut in May, and Toyota says pricing will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
