Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc.’s Lexus luxury division says the new GS 450h hybrid-electric vehicle will begin at $54,900 when it goes on sale in early May.

The vehicle boasts features that are options on the gasoline-powered GS 300 and GS 430 models.

They include electrically powered air conditioner, power moonroof, and power rear sunshade, as well as heated/ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers and Toyota’s Intuitive Park Assist parking aid system. (See related story: A Hybrid With Attitude )

The GS 450h also comes standard with Toyota’s Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) stability control system, and electric power steering with Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VRGS).
