New Zealand’s new-vehicle market in October saw its best month since mid-1989, as sales rose 7.1% to 10,051 units. The Motor Industry Assn. says the result included 6,379 new cars, up from 6,376 sold year-ago, and 1,483 SUVs, a 6.3% increase from 1,395 in prior-year. New-commercial-vehicle sales of 2,150 units jumped 33.9% from October 2006, with the light-commercial segment up 35.2% to 1,800.
