The White House delivered $5 billion to the struggling auto-parts industry today, a desperately needed capital injection as suppliers share the nation’s economic downturn with their auto maker customers.
“We’re very, very pleased,” says Neil DeKoker, president and CEO of the Original Equipment Suppliers Assn. “We’re still having ongoing discussions. We haven’t got it all done, but this addresses our immediate needs.”
