GENEVA – The Opel Tigra Twin-Top coupe convertible wins the convertible of the year title at the Geneva auto show, beating out the Mercedes-Benz SLK and convertible versions of the Mini and Chrysler PT Cruiser.

The title, conferred by a panel of 19 international journalists, went to the Citroen Pluriel last year.

The Tigra Twin-Top, sold as an Opel and Vauxhall in Europe, will not be homologated for the U.S.

"We always talk about it" when an attractive European sports car debuts, says General Motors Corp. Chairman Rick Wagoner, "but we never do it. Usually you find a volume of (only) about 3,000 units."
