NADA political arm honors activists The Dealers Election Action Committee (DEAC), NADA's political arm, has presented three dealers with its Individual Achievement Awards.

The recipients are Bert Allen of Bert Allen Pontiac-GMC in Gulfport, MS, Jim Dowen of Jim Dowen Nissan-Subaru in Kalispell, MT, and Stephen Morris, executive vice president of the Missouri Automobile Dealers Association.

Mr. Allen was named Outstanding NADA Director for leading a grassroots fund-raising effort in 1999 that netted more than $15,000 in personal Mississippi dealer contributions.

Mr. Dowen was named Outstanding DEAC State Chairman for leading a fund-raising effort that brought in $24,000, 314% of the state's goal.

Mr. Morris was named Outstanding Automotive Trade Association Executive. Because of his efforts, Missouri dealers raised 125% of their goal.
