SEMA Bucks NHTSA’s Latest Lighting Rules

The Specialty Equipment Market Assn. is vowing to challenge the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin.’s ban on certain replacement headlamp systems.

SEMA says it will take its challenge as far as the federal courts in a lawsuit on behalf of its membership, which includes a contingent of aftermarket lighting suppliers that sell equipment considered illegal under NHTSA’s final lighting performance requirements issued in October.
