One casualty of the lagging sports car market is the Dodge Stealth, built by Mitsubishi Motors Corp. for Chrysler Corp. The U.S. automaker expects to discontinue the Mitsubishi 300OGT twin after a limited run in 1996. A yen/dollar exchange rate resulting in a higher price than consumers are willing to pay and the emergence of the Viper as Dodge Div's image machine are among reasons for Stealth's demise. A Mitsubishi insider, however, hints that the Stealth may not die. He says Chrysler's Stealth contract with the Japanese automaker runs through 1998.
