Somali Pirates Hijack Hyundai-Kia Shipment Destined for Middle East

Some 2,300 cars built by Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd. and sister auto maker Kia Motors Corp. have been hijacked by Somali pirates, who seized the British-flagged car carrier Asian Glory late New Year’s Day, a company spokesman confirms.

The ship was 620 miles (998 km) off the coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean when it was boarded by armed pirates and taken to Somalia.
