Subaru Names Ikeda U.S. CEO

Ikeda has a 30-year history with Subaru-maker Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., most recently serving as corporate vice president for the Japanese auto maker.

Subaru of America Inc. names Tomohiko Ikeda CEO, effective April 1.

Ikeda, who also will hold the chairman and president titles, replaces Kunio Ishigami, who has held all three posts since June 2004.

Ikeda has a 30-year history with Subaru-maker Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., most recently serving as corporate vice president for the Japanese auto maker. He also was vice president for Subaru of America from 1998-2002.

Ishigami will return to Japan to become an advisor to Fuji, the company says.
