A roundup of this week’s news involving automotive suppliers Delphi Corp. says it will cut 8,500 jobs worldwide in the next 15 months, including 5,500 hourly positions in the U.S., in an effort to reduce operating costs. The supplier says it expects many of the targeted workers to take the $3,000 bonus offered in conjunction with the new United Auto Workers union 4-year contract as an incentive to retire, transfer to other Delphi locations or to jobs at former parent company General Motors ...
