DETROIT – The impending shift of Toyota Motor Corp.’s Tacoma compact-pickup truck to San Antonio, allows the auto maker to better weigh its truck mix, a company official says.
“Introducing (the) Tacoma into that plant (means) we’re going to have much greater flexibility in balancing compact and fullsize trucks than we did with two independent plants,” Bob Carter, group vice president and general manager-Toyota Div., says during a media backgrounder here.
