American Suzuki Motor Corp. says Tom Carney, vice president-sales, will leave the company, effective Oct. 31.

Suzuki says it is “actively searching” for a replacement for Carney, who was been with the auto maker for five years. Previous to his appointment early this year as vice president of sales, Carney was director-sales and marketing.

Carney will be joining Godfrey Marine, a maker of pontoon, deck and fishing boats, in Elkhart, IN, the auto maker says.

“For the past five years, Tom Carney has made significant contributions to our growth, and the benefits of his contributions will be enjoyed for years to come,” Suzuki says.

“His professionalism, hard work, leadership and good humor have been tremendously valuable to me and to American Suzuki, and his camaraderie and positive attitude will be greatly missed.”
