The United Auto Workers union says it has reached a tentative deal with the U.S. Treasury Dept. and General Motors Corp. on changes to GM and the UAW’s 2007 labor agreement and the Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (VEBA) health-care trust.

The UAW says it is withholding details of the deal until explanation and ratification meetings for UAW GM members can be set.

GM is operating under U.S. government loans and has until June 1 to restructure its operations or face Chapter 11 bankruptcy
