April sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks in the U.S. increased 26.8% to 36,256 units from the 28,585 big rigs delivered year-ago. Class 8 sales increased 33.3% to 16,416 units from 12,315. Freightliner Corp. was the only major manufacturer to record a decline with sales down 9.4%. AB Volvo’s 79.2% increase was the segment’s largest.
