Vietnamese new-car sales rose 8% in June to 3,700 units, the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Assn. says.

The increase marked the third consecutive month of growth.

Toyota Motor Corp. sales jumped 32% to 1,480 units, giving the Japanese auto maker a 39% share of the market.

Truong Hai Auto Co. sold 450 units for a 12% market share. Ford (Motor Co.) Vietnam followed with sales of 370 units.

The June results left first-half sales down 14% to 15,940 units.
