CHICAGO – Volvo Cars North America says it has created a program to help mobility-challenged customers convert vehicles to fit their physical needs.
The program, called Mobility by Volvo, offers as much as $1,000 in assistance toward the cost and installation of adaptive equipment physically challenged buyers may require in order to legally operate a vehicle.

Volvo say all ’04-model S40/V40; S60; S80; V70; XC70; C70 or XC90 models sold between Oct. 31, 2003 and July 31, 2004 are eligible.
Officials say Volvo also can help with identifying which adaptive equipment individual customers require through a nationwide network of Driver Assessment Centers.
“With this program, we hope more people who share our beliefs will turn to Volvo,” says VCNA President and CEO Vic Doolan.
Several auto makers are studying the needs of physically challenged drivers and many, includingCorp., offer similar programs.
