Soaring demand for Proton Holdings Bhd cars saw Malaysian new-vehicle sales surge 49.2% to 50,279 units in April, compared with 33,679 in like-2007. The Malaysian Automotive Assn. says April’s result also was 8.3% ahead of March deliveries, crediting the increase to demand for the Proton Saga and Persona.
