Audi of America Inc. will bridge the gap to a new A4 due this fall with a special edition of the current model.
Unveiled today at the Chicago auto show, the A4 Special Edition includes a sportier front bumper and grille, plus 17-in. wheels, lower side door flares and an integrated rear spoiler.
Quattro models get leather-trimmed, heated front seats and metallic paint. All versions get a 1-year subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio.
Audi says the added equipment is valued at $405 for the front-drive models and $1,155 for quatrro editions.
The A4 Special Edition, available in both sedan and Avant wagon body styles, is slated to hit U.S. showrooms in March.
