Australia to Get H3 in Mid-2007

The Oz-bound right-hand-drive vehicle will be built at GM's new Port Elizabeth, South Africa, facility that began production earlier this month.

General Motors Corp. confirms it will begin exporting the Hummer H3 to Australia in mid-2007.

The Oz-bound right-hand-drive vehicle will be built at GM’s new Port Elizabeth, South Africa, facility that began production earlier this month.

GM also intends to export the South African-built H3 to Europe beginning in January.

Initially, the H3 will be available in Australia with a 3.7L inline 5-cyl. gasoline engine that produces 241 hp and 241 lb.-ft. (328 Nm) of torque. A direct-injection turbodiesel engine is expected to follow.
