Ford Motor Co. announces the appointment of Kenneth H.M. Leet as strategic advisor to Chairman and CEO Bill Ford.

Leet, 48, will report directly to Bill Ford and work closely with the senior management team, the auto maker says. As the CEO’s advisor, Leet will “explore a broad range of strategic alternatives for the company,” Ford says.

Prior to his appointment at Ford, Leet served at both the New York and London offices of investment firm Goldman Sachs. Leet also led European banking operations for Bank of America.

A Ford spokesman declines to comment on a Wall Street Journal report that Leet was brought in to possibly assist the auto maker in selling off its foundering Jaguar Cars subsidiary.
