California wants General Motors Corp. to extend a fuel injector warranty to cover almost 700,000 ’96-’01 model light- and medium-duty trucks, SUVs and vans. The California Air Resources Board says GM’s sequential central port injector (SCPI) fuel system is “trouble prone,” leading to possible misfires, rough idles and starting problems, and too often triggers the “Service Engine Soon” dashboard warning light.
