Canadian car and truck sales (see data p.2) continued to rebound in March from a late-1998 slump, rising 4.5% on a daily sales rate basis from year ago (27 days this year vs. 26 in like-1998). Trucks continue to lead the way, but car sales also were up, climbing 1.5% to 72,502 for the month. Leading the car gain were General Motors of Canada Ltd. (up 14.6%) and Honda Canada Ltd.
