DMAX Ltd., the diesel engine joint venture betweenCorp. and Motors Ltd., rolls out its 1 millionth Duramax V-8 turbodiesel at its plant in Moraine, OH.
DMAX was founded in 1998 and introduced its first U.S. diesel in the '01 model year. Its current 6.6L V-8 is offered in Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra heavy-duty pickups, as well as Chevy Kodiak/GMC TopKick medium-duty commercial vehicles and Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana fullsize vans.
The Moraine plant employs 1,225 hourly and salaried workers and produces 200,000 engines annually, GM says.
