Dodge Recalls 195,000 Trucks

Chrysler Group is recalling nearly 200,000 Dodge Ram pickups and Durango SUVs due to safety issues with rear-facing child seats, seatbelt assembly and faulty wiring.

Chrysler Group reportedly is calling back nearly 200,000 Dodge Ram pickups and Durango SUVs due to safety issues.

Affected by the recall are passenger airbag systems in more than 145,000 light-duty ’06 Ram trucks, which have compatibility issues with certain rear-facing child seats, Reuters reports.

In addition to replacing the airbag system, the auto maker also will replace the passenger seatbelt assembly in the trucks, plus an additional 15,151 vehicles for similar reasons.

Also affected are more than 35,000 ’01-’03 Durango SUVs, which have faulty wiring in their center consoles that may cause a potential fire if liquid spills over from the cupholder and comes in contact with the electrical connections.
