Dana Corp. and Emerson Motor Co. announce they will jointly develop “advanced actuator systems” for electrically driven automotive power-steering systems.
Chuck Heine, Dana's president of technology development, says the new Dana Emerson Actuator Systems already has $500 million in new-business commitments.
The first product, an electrohydraulic power-steering actuator for a European vehicle built in Slovakia, starts production next year.
