PARIS – Fiat Auto SpA hopes to jump-start interest in its ailing Fiat Stilo product range by adding two new variants to the lineup, both of which go on sale in 2005.

The Italian auto maker expands Stilo’s reach via the Multi Wagon Uproad, which features a more rugged appearance than other Stilo Wagon models thanks to its revised front and rear fascias, new alloy wheels and revamped interior.

Stilo Wagon Uproad will feature two engine choices: the base 115-hp 1.9L diesel and optional 140-hp 1.9L diesel.
Fiat also unveils its new Stilo “M. Schumacher,” a limited-edition car named after famous Ferrari driver and Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher. It is designed to appeal to customers who want a sporty, yet affordable vehicle. Production will be limited to 3,500 units.

The Schumacher Stilo features all-new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and rear spoiler – all painted in the exclusive Racing Red (the only color offered on the special edition), special alloy wheels and unique “M. Schumacher” badging.

Powered by either a 170-hp 2.4L diesel or 140-hp 1.9L diesel engine, the interior features sporty touches, including exclusive pedals and sill plate with a special sports design. Side airbags, stability-control system, dual-zone climate-control system, MP3 player with steering wheel-mounted radio controls and a large sunroof round out the list of standard features.
