Five Axis, Street Image Toyota Venzas Debuting at SEMA

Five Axis’ AS V geared to winter-sports enthusiasts, with special storage for skis and snowboards.

Two tricked out versions of Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc.’s new '09 Venza cross/utility vehicle will be on the auto maker’s stand at next week’s Specialty Equipment Market Assn. (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.

Customizer Five Axis has created the Venza Active Sports Versatility (AS V for short), featuring storage systems designed to appeal to winter sports enthusiasts.

An integrated cargo carrier stow-away rack from Magna Car Top Systems can hold items such as skis and snowboards, while a multipurpose rear cargo unit from Five Axis can separate goods that may be “messy,” Toyota says, preventing the interior of the AS V from being soiled.

Appearance changes made by Five Axis include the addition of different front and rear bumpers, as well as over-fenders, lending what Toyota says is “a more rugged appearance” to the stock Venza, which goes on sale in the U.S. in late November or early December.

A custom Lunar White and Bronze paint job echoes the “latest trends in winter fashion,” the auto maker says.

Street Image’s SportLux Venza sports many add-on components from Toyota Racing Development (TRD), including a power-boosting supercharger kit, larger 15-in. front and 13.6-in. rear TRD Big Brakes with forged calipers (6-piston front, 4-piston rear) and braided stainless steel brake lines.

Toyo Proxy 4 performance tires encircle Chrome Cognac No. 20 24-in. wheels, while dual stainless steel exhausts, rear spoiler, integrated hood scoop and custom grille are other appearance features.

The SportLux Venza’s seating is outfitted in black leather with burgundy accents, while black suede is used on the vehicle’s roof, pillars and visors.

An Eclipse entertainment system in the SportLux Venza includes premium in-dash navigation with a 7-in. (18-cm) front monitor, while two 7-in. widescreen monitors are in the back of the front-seat headrests for rear passengers to enjoy movie watching.
