Motor Co. adds an additional model and features to its ’08 F-150 lineup, as it prepares for the launch of the new ’09 version of its best-selling product.
Building on a lineup that boasts more than 60 possible F-150 configurations,adds for ’08 a new Lariat Limited package, a Wheels and Stripes Package on the F-150 STX, and, for the first time, an F-150 XL SuperCrew with either a 5.5-ft. or 6.5-ft. (1.7 m- or 2.0-m) Styleside box.
The Lariat Limited package, available on the uplevel Lariat SuperCrew, features a custom White Sand Metallic monochromatic paint scheme, deluxe mirrors and 22-in. aluminum wheels.
On the other end of the price spectrum, the F-150 XL SuperCrew essentially is an entry-level crew cab pickup, which Ford says, “will be a favorite of value-conscious customers.”
Ford also adds new optional features for ’08, including a rearview backup camera, a cargo management system for the bed and a mid-box, which provides lockable storage behind the cab.
Other optional features include:
- Standard tachometer on F-150 XL and STX with manual transmission.
- Power Code remote-start system.
- Manual telescoping trailer-tow mirrors for F-150 XLT and Lariat Chrome packages.
- Tire pressure-monitoring system in heavy-duty package.
- Two new exterior colors – Stone Green on all models and Mahogany on King Ranch.
For ’08 the F-150 will offer three cab choices, three box lengths, two box styles and five unique series.
It also will offer three engine choices: a 4.2L V-6, 4.6L Triton V-8 and 5.4L, 3-valve Triton V-8.
Pricing for the ’08 F-150 lineup and options has yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Ford says a new 450-hp supercharged Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 Super Crew 4x2 will be available this summer.
Based on the F-150 performance truck concept shown at the November 2006 Specialty Equipment Marketing Assn. show, the ’07 Harley-Davidson F-150 gets its extra power from a twin-screw supercharger, similar to the one found in the Shelby Mustang GT-500.
Other highlights include chrome accents, 22-in. wheels and tires, custom scalloped stripe along the sides, Harley-Davidson script, blacked-out headlamps and chrome billet grille.
Pricing for the ’07 Harley-Davidson F-150 starts at $37,210, including a $925 destination and delivery charge.
