The four-door crew cab pickup is evolving into an SUV/pickup hybrid, with Ford Motor Co. committing to build a version of its year 2000 Explorer with a 4-ft. (1.2-m.) pickup bed. Aimed at younger buyers who want more of a utility vehicle but can't afford to spend more than $25,000, the new model will be priced below $20,000, say Ford insiders. Two years ago at the Chicago Auto Show Ford displayed a concept called the Adrenaline. This will be similar.
