Peter M. Butterfield, former CEO of Kia Motors America Inc., and a partner have purchased North American ATK, the largest private-label engine remanufacturer in North America. Butterfield and Ton Versteeg, president of VEGE de Mexico and VEGE Motodis, bought the company from the founding family in Holland. They also purchased the Mexican division of VEGE Motoren. Butterfield, a veteran auto industry executive, also once was an executive vice president of Volvo Cars of North America Inc.
