General Motors Corp. is idling 500 workers at its Flint, MI, commercial truck chassis plant next week because of slumping sales. GM will halt production on the line for a week each month until the end of September. The only exception comes during GM’s annual summer shutdown in July, when the line will be down for two weeks.
