GMC Acadia to Start Under $30,000

The cross/utility vehicle is the first vehicle to come from GM's Global Compact Crossover Architecture and will be available in late December.

General Motors Corp. announces front-wheel-drive versions of the all-new GMC Acadia cross/utility vehicle will start at $29,990 when it hits U.S. showrooms in December.

Adding all-wheel-drive to the CUV, the first new vehicle from GM’s Global Compact Crossover Architecture (Theta), brings the entry price to $31,990.

Both prices include $735 for destination and handling, GM says.

Power comes from GM’s all-new 275-hp, 3.6L V-6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, with FWD models rated at 18 mpg (13.1 L/100 km) city and 26 mpg (9.1 L/100 km) highway by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Major standard features include StabiliTrak electronic stability control, six airbags, OnStar communication with turn-by-turn navigation, Smart Slide second-row seating, an MP3-capable, 6-speaker audio system and 18-in. wheels.
