Jaguar Dealers Top J.D. Power Satisfaction Study

The study, now in its 20th year, is an overall analysis of the new-vehicle purchase experience.

Jaguar takes the top spot in the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Sales Satisfaction Index for the third year in a row.

The Ford Motor Co. subsidiary was followed in the rankings by General Motors Corp.’s Cadillac brand and Ford’s Lincoln division.

The study, now in its 20th year, is an overall analysis of the new-vehicle purchase experience. Customer satisfaction is measured on five factors: dealership facility, salesperson, paperwork/finance process, delivery process and vehicle price.

Automotive brands are ranked according to a 1,000-point scale. This year, the industry recorded a record high average score of 847 points, a 5-point improvement from last year.

The top-10 brands and the points they received are as follows: Jaguar (912), Cadillac (891), Lincoln (889), Porsche (889), Lexus (887), Saturn (887), Buick (884), Volvo (883), Mercury (881) and Mercedes-Benz (876).

Mitsubishi was ranked last with 794 points.
