Jaguar Reveals XF Sedan

Based on the CX-F concept shown at January’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the XF represents a new design direction.

Jaguar Cars reveals the all-new ’09 XF 4-door sedan, which will debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

Based on the CX-F concept shown at January’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the XF represents a new design direction for the storied marque.

"With its dramatic styling, powerful flowing lines and a distinctive front, the new XF looks like no other Jaguar," says Wayne Burgess, XF senior design manager. "Yet, it defines the new design language the company will be adopting for future models."

The XF’s contemporary look is carried into its cabin, where wood, aluminum and leather are combined to evoke a modern feel, Jaguar says.

The XF will be available in the U.S. with two engine choices – a 4.2L naturally aspirated V-8 that produces 300 hp and 310 lb.-ft. (420 Nm) of torque and a 4.2L supercharged V-8 that delivers 420 hp and 408 lb.-ft. (553 Nm) of torque.

The XF will go on sale in the U.S. in March 2008. Pricing for the North American market will be announced in November.
