U.S. medium- and heavy-duty truck sales totaled 31,736 units in May, down 10.2% from the 35,350 big rigs delivered year-ago. Monthly sales declines had been getting progressively smaller each month in 2002 vs. previous month figures. But May’s 10.2% dip ends that streak; April sales were down 6.2% compared to like-2001.
