Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and DaimlerChrysler AG agree to team up on a European recycling initiative that addresses the European Union’s directive on end-of-life vehicles. MMC and DC call this early step a “proactive” response to the directive, which calls for an 85% reuse and recovery rate of end-of-life vehicles by 2006 and a 95% rate by 2015.
