NEW YORK – Nissan North America Inc. says it will bring a model to market next year based platform that underpins the Sport Concept small car, shown last week during the opening of Nissan's second U.S. design studio in Farmington Hills, MI.
A company spokeswoman says the B-platform model will be a derivative of the Sport and should go on sale in mid-2006, around the same time a new Sentra makes its debut.(See related story: Nissan Opens New $14 Million Design Studio, Shows Sport Concept)
The auto maker also confirms it will bring another sub-Sentra model to market later next year, but has not yet decided what it will look like or what platform it will use.

The spokeswoman says no decision has been made on whether one or both models will be built in the U.S. Nissan has two U.S. manufacturing facilities in Smyrna, TN, and Canton, MS.
