Nissan North America Inc.’s Dan Gaudette, senior vice president-North American manufacturing and supply chain management, is retiring, the auto maker says.

Gaudette, who has spent 26 years with Nissan, starting in December 1980 as a financial analyst/controller on the launch team for the Smyrna, TN, vehicle assembly plant, will retire in April, Nissan says.

“I appreciate Dan’s hard work and contributions to Nissan’s manufacturing organization during his many years of service,” Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., says in a statement.

Bill Krueger, vice president-manufacturing, at the Smyrna plant, will succeed Gaudette.

Krueger joined Nissan in 2005 from Toyota Motor Corp.’s Georgetown, KY, plant, where has was general manager. He also has spent time with General Motors Corp. and Harley Davidson’s Utilimaster Corp., Nissan says.
