Celebrating its 50th anniversary in the New York City market, Ferrari opens a showroom at the prestigious Manhattan location of Park Ave. and 55th St.

But the new show place will not sell cars, says Maurizio Parlato, president and CEO of Ferrari of North America. (FNA)

Rather, it's designed to expose the public to Ferraris and Maseratis, and nudge interested shoppers to dealerships in the New York region for actual purchases.

Those dealers are Ferrari Maserati of Long Island; Miller Motorcars, Greenwich, CT; Wide World of Cars, Spring Valley, NY; and Ferrari Maserati of Central New Jersey in Edison, NJ.

FNA sold about 1,400 units last year. About 60% to Ferrari repeaters.
