In fine-tuning third-quarter North American output plans, auto makers have trimmed some 7,900 units from the previous slate, bringing the total down to 3,752,600 units, still 0.2% ahead of like-2003’s 3,746,700 units. The changes do not include any adjustments being planned by Ford Motor Co. Ford will not make its revised July-September plans known until after it releases its first-half earnings report on July 20.
