Think Global AS will add a new product-development facility to its headquarters in Fornebu, Oslo, Norway.

The tiny electric-vehicle maker says the new state-of-the-art facility will house 70 product development engineers and technicians and include a dedicated climate chamber, dynamometer, rolling road and clean room.

The center also will include several prototype laboratories for electrical and hardware development, Think says.

“This move to our brand-new development center builds upon the continued strengthening of the pioneering Think EV product-development team, with new staff being recruited right now to continue and enhance the development of our world-class EV drive-train systems, vehicle control software and EV design,” says CEO Richard Canny.

“We aim to take on 30 to 50 new staff during the course of the next 12 months who will focus on the future development of the Think City vehicle.”

Think does not indicate how much will be invested or exactly when the new operations will be ready for occupation, saying only that staff will move into the facility “soon.”
