Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. reduces the price on its all-new Solara Convertible from the previous generation.

The ’04 Solara Convertible, which reaches dealers in March, will start at $25,950, which is 7.5% or $2,095 less than the ’03 model. The SLE trim level carries a base price of $29,450, $1,075, or 3.5%, less than the out-going model.

Toyota also sets pricing on its ’04 MR2 Spyder at $24,895 equipped with the 5-speed manual and $25,895 with the sequential automatic transmission. Both prices represent a $250, or 1%, increase. The MR2 now is available with a performance-enhancing limited slip differential and red leather trim package.

The Action Package comes as an option on the Celica for ’04. The aggressive styling package includes fog lamps, color-keyed headlights, clear lens combination lamps and taillight surround and tip. Bumpers, side rocker panels, hood scoops and spoiler also have been redesigned.

The Celica GT with the Action Package is priced at $19,355 with a 5-speed manual transmission and $20,155 with an automatic – both $375 increases. The Celica GT-S Action Package carries a base price of $23,930 for models equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission and $24,630 for the automatic, up $395, or $1.7%.

The MR2 Spyder and Celica with Action Package go on sale in February.
