The United Auto Workers union and Detroit Diesel Corp. reach a tentative labor agreement, ending a 1-day strike at the supplier’s heavy-duty diesel engine production facility in suburban Detroit. The walkout threatened to disrupt production at DaimlerChrysler AG’s Freightliner commercial truck unit. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
