A better-than-expected rebound in retail deliveries, after a surge in December caused a huge trough in the first two months of 2005, lifted U.S. light-vehicle sales above expectations in March. March sales equated to a 16.8 million seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR), up from 16.7 million a year ago.
