Newly independent Visteon Corp. is providing Toyota Motor Co. with a brand-new electronic security system that ensures only an owner's key will start the car. The passive anti-theft “Immobilizer” communicates with the engine control system and if an incorrect key or starting method is used, the Immobilizer shuts down all engine operating systems. The system now is an available option for the '00 Toyota Avalon.
