FRANKFURT, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Volkswagen's erstwhile crown prince Wolfgang Bernhard tendered his resignation as VW brand chief on Thursday before he ever had a chance to ascend the throne.
His decision to leave by the end of the month marked the second time that Bernhard has missed out on becoming the head of a major German carmaker.
